Reality of Tiny House lot rental costs

I am starting to notice that tiny houses are not as affordable as they seem when you look at the monthly lot fees. In many communities these rentals cost 800 dollars or more which is almost the same price as a monthly mortgage payment. It feels discouraging to pay that much for a piece of land you will never own because the rent will likely keep going up over time. The savings from living tiny seem to depend mostly on where you live rather than the house itself. I am looking for creative ways to make this lifestyle actually save money in the long run. And I want to hear from people who have found cheaper land options or legal ways to avoid these high community fees.

I agree! The hardest part of living in a tiny house is not the building itself but the cost of land because many communities charge high fees that take away the savings. Some opted to put their homes on rural land they purchased or by making long term rental deals with private owners instead of moving into organized parks.

It is also better to check local rules like agricultural zoning or accessory dwelling unitt laws that will let you place a tiny house on family property without paying the high community fees.
