Water recycling for an off grid Tiny Home shower

New to tiny homes. I am starting to build a 150 sq ft off grid tiny home on a small piece of land I own which currently has no water source. I really want to figure out a smart way to recycle and filter water so I can have reliable hot showers.

My initial idea is to set up a few large tanks to collect rainwater and then I would filter that shower water so it can be reused for the next shower. This seems like a good path but I am unsure about the best filtration system to handle that recycled water. Does anyone have experience with a proven gray water recycling setup specifically for tiny homes that allows for hot water reuse?

Actually it is possible, but you need to use a multi stage approach with a sediment filter, a sand filter, and then a fine carbon or membrane filter before the water is reused. Collecting rainwater is also a great setup. but if you’re planning on using it for regular showers. You will need a proper gray water setup that’s simple to clean and maintain. Small tanks can get nasty fast if you don’t stay on top of them.

Have you checked with local rules? Not sure where you're from but collecting rainwater in some areas are not allowed and there are rules before installing water your system. Good luck with going off-grid!
