Tiny home water heater

I am finally moving forward with my tiny home project after years of looking at designs. I am working on a cabin with a loft and the company is handling the electrical and insulation for me. Now I need to figure out the plumbing and specifically which water heater to use. I want to know what models work best and where you all are putting them in such a small space. I am thinking about building a small locked closet on the outside of the house for the heater and other gear. This would have a vent for air flow and safety. But I am also considering a tiny closet inside instead. Any tips? Thank you!

If you build an exterior closet make sure it is well insulated so your pipes do not freeze in the winter.

Propane heaters are great for off grid setups but they must have proper venting to the outside.
