Moved to Canada and am legally off-grid. Built myself a peaceful cabin in the woods. Bears? Check. Birds? Check, But so what? It's all noise out there. First time I moved I lived near East Hastings because it was the cheapest LOL so you get why I wanted to disappear. So traumatic... Where I'm at now is a simple home and a simple life, planting fruits here and there.

Good for you! Total serenity, I can imagine... Im not off grid myself, but I admire people who actually take that leap. Hoping there are some fellow cabin folks join in!

a simple nature life, okay, got it. but you need to grow your own food and probably live far from grocery stores, hospitals, and all. idk, it sounds like a hassle for me

I love this! I totally see why you decided to make that change, who wouldn't choose peace over all that chaos? A simple life with fresh air and maybe even some bears sounds so much better than East Hastings, right? I'm not fully off-grid yet, but it's definitely on my bucket list

Everytime a coworker steps on my nerve I'm one step closer to living off grid with the bears. It sound perfect, but I'm sure there are some downsides, care to share them with us?
