Need to place a home on a foundation

My tiny home has been sitting happy on my trailer, but I plan to sell it and I have a land where I can move my home permanently. With this in mind, how would I approach moving it off the trailer and placing it on a foundation?

What I would suggest ? Make a sketch of the bottom of your tiny house. Then take measurements and add those dimensions to the sketch. This way you can go about building a
foundation that will align with the floor joist when the home is moved off the trailer.

Next you would need to find a contractor with a crane truck that can lift the. Shouldn't be too difficult. Then if the trailer is open on the bottom such that you can see the floor joist, you can rent jack screws to lift the home up a few inches from the trailer.

Now small "I" beams can be slid under the home and nylon belts rigged for the crane to attach to. Then the crane operator can "fly" the home off the trailer and onto the foundation.

If the foundation is a few concrete blocks high there will be room enough for someone to set the jack screws up for the home to land on. With an opening in the foundation for a worker to crawl under and make the final lowering onto the foundation. Then worker can then remove the Jacks and bring them out from under the home now resting on it's new foundation.

This 10 minute Youtube video shows a rather large tiny home being moved off a trailer and onto a poured concrete foundation. I'm assuming there is a door in the floor of the home so that workmen could go under the home or come out thru that access.

That seems very similar to how the house-moving companies do the moves. It seems it all depends on the base of the house to be moved.

Here is a Youtube showing a tiny home being moved with a 40 ton rated crane. (it may be able to do this with a much lower rated crane. (like those that outdoor advertising sign shops use) Much of the work rigging would be done prior to the crane truck arriving. Thus the actual lift and placement may take less than an hour for the use of the crane.

it's great that you want to do it all yourself. when I moved my tiny house, I just called a company that specialized in tiny house transport. They took care of all of it, and we just need to tell them where to drop the house. I used heavy haulers, but there are other companies like JT hotshotting, etc. you might want to check

Yeah, I could do that, but I'm a DIY kinds guy, so I'm trying to see if it's something I can do myself before deciding if I should call a pro
