I just bought some land in southern Louisiana and I've been meaning to find something small to live in while I build a cabin. I'm actually open to a used RV, a yurt kit, or even a prefab tiny home. To be honest, budget is tight now since I spent so much on the land, I can only bring out around $15k max.

Congrats on snagging that land! With a budget of $15K, you're in a good spot for finding something cozy to live in while you build your dream cabin. Have you thought about looking into used RVs or yurt kits? They're both super affordable and can really do the trick. Yurts are especially great because they're quick to set up and won't break the bank, plus they have that rustic charm. On the other hand, a used RV would give you the flexibility to pack up and move if you want to change your scenery

You may even consider a prefab tiny home and you'll probably be able to find something within that price range. How long do you plan to stay there? That might determine how much you'll need to invest.

It's exciting that you've got a land in Souther Louisiana!
I think with your budget and for immediate usability, a used RV is your most realistic option.
You can find older but functional motorhomes or travel trailers in that range, but remember to also factor in utility hookups and local parish zoning for long-term RV stays!
Good luck with your cabin!
