building tiny house in Niagara Falls, NY

I'm hoping to get some local advice for my sister. She recently moved to Niagara Falls, NY, and is looking to buy some small acreage to build a tiny house and start a little homestead.

I know it's a big city, but for anyone else living here, do you have any suggestions on good areas she should be looking at for a project like this?

If she's fine being a bit remote and far from certain amenities, then Lockport is a good place to start. A colleague of mine used to live there on a 15 acre land, it wasn't exactly a tiny place, but I remember him saying that there were very small places for sale around him, which I think would be perfect for your sister.

Try Lewiston, Cambria, or Wilson, they're quieter, more rural, and have listings for land that fit homesteading goals.
