Some are using tiny homes as short-term rentals or backyard guest suites for extra income.

This is a great investment idea and a fun way to share the tiny lifestyle. Not expensive to set up compared to regular homes.
But zoning laws can complicate things, and managing guests takes time. So others are outsourcing this to companies or freelance workers.

Anyone here going for the Airbnb route?

I rented one when I was on vacation. It was actually cool. Cheaper than most. I'm thinking of doing the same.

It is a great way to make money as long as youu treat it like running a real hospitality gig, not just a casual side project.

Afaik, the initial setup costs less than a traditional home. However, maintenance can be tricky with features like composting toilets or graywater systems that most plumbers avoid.
