Thirdly, describe your home work environment and the resources you have to work with. (printer/scanner/fax, software portfolio, etc) and your experience working independently and or your adaptability to work with other remote workers.

(replaced Skype) MS To Do, etc. There are other MS resources for more team intensive task too.

Anyone else here working remotely. I've worked remotely from home in web development. Communication was key for what I was doing as we each produced files of info that were passed along in a bucket brigade fashion. Several workers produced files they were assigned by Skype and sent them along to others compiling them into more complete files. From there senior members assembled those resources into the web pages
of a much larger catalog site. I worked with both image editing and text generation.

My brother-in-law hired his 'office help" that works from home. She had an indeed ad up that listed the s/w he uses for invoices, hours, etc. And she has is staff on Teams now instead of text messages, etc.
Also, there is a group called Fiver that allows a per event hire, or project, or long term.

Yes "MS Teams" has replaced "Skype" now for businesses using the 365 framework. It works with many of the other MS tools and Teams has functions in it that work with the MS 365.

MS retired Skype back in May.

There are still other free communication softwares such as Zoom, Google Voice, WhatsApp, and several others. But they aren't created to work so much MS 365.

AARP likes to list their updated forecast early each year. People can join AARP at 18 years of age. In this they list the potential earnings of each occupation.

Web Developer comes in at #15 listing one source offering $38.81 an hour.

Another item that requires a little investment to enter is that of a commercial Drone Pilot. I now have my TRUST (beginners license) and a small used Drone. In time I'll get my #107 FAA Commercial License. ($175 dollars once I've passed the test)
This could be ideal for someone who likes to travel and work from an RV or Rig.

There is increasing demand for those who can provide Drone services such as aerial real estate photography, roofing company surveying, agriculture, and those like Amazon and Walmart are offering big pay for those with skill.

A few minutes ago the News was showing Drone Dogs in various roles. I believe Drones and AI will be the next big thing.

A number of companies are looking for those who can speak other languages besides English. But top dollar is available to those who can read and write in those languages too. Because they could work with contracts and trade agreement documents. Here you could work from home or travel without much more than a laptop.

Those who can operate cash registers and operate Fork Lifts can make very good wages working in warehouses. Many community colleges are offering free courses to gain a certification to operate a fork lift. The course may take 3 to 4 hours to complete.

Those interested in Tech should know that AI will be BIG in their future. If you are in school now the sooner you make this choice if it is for you the better off you will be in the near future. This doesn't always require college education to qualify for these jobs.

While a bachelor's degree is common, hands-on experience and certifications are often prioritized by companies actively pursuing qualified personnel. Some years ago I attended a certification school which cost me $1500 dollars to get certified in Telecom and Fiber Optic. The school was placing grads as soon as they graduated and within a week or two they were working and earning great pay. I was also able to write the $1500 dollars off my income taxes as it was for my education.
