My tiny house idea

We've been using a small standalone bedroom/office, it is dry, quiet, and simple with no plumbing. It's worked well, but sharing utilities with the main house isn't ideal anymore. I'm thinking of keeping sleep, work, and storage in one tiny house, and building a second for kitchen, bath, and living. Or maybe just one slightly bigger tiny house for everything, has anyone tried a setup like this before?

Some friends of mine slept/spent nights in small trailer, until the got mobile home sealed, skirted and otherwise able to hold heat. They moved out there with trailer, living in it until they got the mobile and got it fixed.

That sounds a lot like what we're thinking, starting small and expanding once everything's ready, did they run into issues with heating or zoning while living in the trailer temporarily?

There is no zoning enforcement out here.... is a 3 wall lean to type area off your existing home, do-able?
Or is the size limit as to what is accepted
Neading separate bldgs
