I built a tiny house for my Mom

My wife and I built a tiny house in our backyard for my mom when she needed to move in. It's on raised cinder blocks with full plumbing, electric, a loft, shower, stove, fridge, wood stove, and more, all for $13K. She lived there for 8 years and now enjoys a great convalescent home nearby, I volunteer there too and it's been a meaningful journey

I am also wondering about the stairs. I've been looking at little/tiny houses. But the ones I look at have a downstairs bed area, and being able to get to the bathroom easily during the night.

Thanks, the loft was used for storage, but she had a cozy bedroom downstairs, it worked out well since the space was tight but efficient

The stairs in our tiny house were steep but manageable. We made sure the bathroom was super accessible from the downstairs area, so no late-night hassle

As America is aging more and more people are looking after their seniors. In
doing so the younger people will notice and hopefully develop an ethic that will have
them stepping up if and when their family situation requires their assistance. And those aging seniors will have their house in order to look after those who made the sacrifice for them.

Absolutely, those years were priceless, caring for loved ones teaches so much about sacrifice and gratitude. I hope more people embrace this ethic, it truly strengthens families and communities

$13K is a good price with all of those features in the house. I wonder how many people and how long do you need to built it?

Yes we just bought our first home on the biggest lot of our entire community and want to learn more about putting a tiny home prefab vs any other types of tiny options, not necessarily for renter, but mainly since I would love to make like a tiny moms girls play house or moms hideout
