I am staying in a portable office cabin for the winter and I need a cheap, temporary way to add a little heat since it will be an office again next year.
The cabin is small, about 20sqm but it is well-insulated so I only need something to raise the temperature a couple of degrees. A gas heater is out because of safety issues and the moisture it creates which is the same problem I have with my gas oven. Diesel heaters are cheap enough but I really want to avoid drilling any permanent vent holes in the walls. My solar setup is small, just 560 watts of panels and a 270 amp-hour battery, so I doubt an electric heater is an option for me.
I am short on time. I wonder if I could use my gas oven to heat something dense every night like some bricks to radiate heat into the room. Do you have any simple, safe and inexpensive ideas for adding just a little bit of warmth without making permanent changes to the cabin?
