I'm looking for some advice on heating options for my skoolie. I'm located in a pretty rural part of Montana and with winter around the corner, I'm trying to figure out a safe and efficient way to stay warm. Last winter, I was using a little tent stove and while I loved the cozy campfire smell, it wasn't the safest or most efficient setup. I'd leave the stovepipe running out a cracked window, which obviously isn't ideal.
My bus is a 2002 International and I've got this built-in bench that I think would be a great base for a small rocket mass heater. I've been doing some research and I'm really intrigued by the concept of a super-efficient burn and a long-lasting heat source. I'm worried about safety though since I only got a small space and it might create a fire hazard or have smoke leak into the living space. Has anyone here ever tried to build a rocket mass heater in a tiny home or a bus? Any tips, suggestions, or words of caution would be a huge help. I'd really appreciate it!
