Planning ahead for cabin heating

Winter isn't here yet, but I'm getting ready. I'll be living in an 18m² portable office cabin with decent 50mm XPS insulation, I won't need much heat, just something to take the edge off. Gas is too risky and diesel needs venting, and solar's too weak. I'm considering using my gas oven to warm thermal mass overnight

If you go that route, just be extra careful about ventilation and carbon monoxide. You might also look into a small ceramic heater with a thermostat as a safer backup.

+1@ Continental Drift Aside from using a small electric heater. you can also add thermal mass like water containers or bricks near the heater so they hold warmth longer once the unit cycles off.

OP, you mustn't use the gas oven plan. That's a huge carbon monoxide risk. Since you can't vent it properly, even for warming thermal mass, the slight CO buildup overnight in an 18m² sealed space is a health hazard you can't see or smell.
Gas appliances are designed for intermittent cooking use with proper kitchen ventilation, not for continuous space heating. If you need to use gas for cooking, make sure you have a working, recently tested Carbon Monoxide Detector right next to your bed, but for heat, you need a different plan
