What brand do you usually see manufacturing multifunctional furniture like sofa beds, convertible tables, etc. These brands can be really helpful in setting up and planning new Tiny Home owners.

If your Tiny Home happens to have a loft, then a ladder of some kind may be handy to access it with. Yet with limited space the ladder may in the way at times. Now if a piece of furniture that is used a lot could also transform into a ladder......think Transformer Toy.....then the issue of a ladder which wouldn't be used so much would be solved.

Here is a chair that can transform into a ladder. This is just one of numerous wood worker's projects which can be purchased in plans to build.

Or, how about a step stool that transforms into an Ironing Board ?

Not all multi-tasking furniture is for indoor applications. Part of the years we enjoy living in the outdoors and if our Tiny Home has an awning on the shady side of the house it would be nice to have a bench to sit on in the shade. Then if we had a get together with friends for some food and libation.....then that bench would be even more handy if it could transform into a Picnic Table .... like so.

But there are numerous plan sets that can be had for these types of furniture concepts.

What one needs to remember with multi functional furniture is that the primary use function should be the default mode and whatever it can convert into to be the secondary consideration. So if you have a Tiny Home with a loft bed area, the chair/ladder would be useful. But if the Tiny Home is all one floor the step stool/ironing board may be a more useful piece of furniture to own.

Here is a wall mounted computer/laptop desk that collapses to about one inch thickness to take very little room and offer great utility.

In a Tiny House Kitchen space will be of the essence. Still, it would be nice to have some of the amenities of a larger kitchen such as a prep island table. There are designs that offer that and can serve as a storage cabinet/pantry/utensil storage, and a dining table. As this device is mounted on casters that swivel, it is easily moved about to provide space as needed.

This island below is set up to store four dining chairs. If shelves are built in the cabinet, it can provide room for canned food goods or cooking utensils all while requiring very little space..

The kitchen of any home is of primary concern. Stoves & Refrigerators can take a lot of room even if they are apartment sized. It may be possible to look at these items as mobile units (which are available) so they can be moved easily to adjust the room in the kitchen or even transport to an event like a tail gate party at a game.

Here is an example of a cooking stove for campers that may cover the needs of a Tiny Home. It could be moved to the porch or deck for outdoor cooking along with a small refrigerator. It's shown with a BBQ Grill propane tank but smaller tanks are available.

A seven or eight cubic ft Refrigerator may be all that is needed for a Tiny Home kitchen to furnish it. Small enough a young woman could move it about if necessary. There would be a freezer area on the top of the unit

For the living room a comfortable chair would be a center piece. Often a recliner is desired. But there are "recliner" chairs which can nearly become a bed.

There are fold out arm mounted wing tables that can be attached to an easy chair too. It adds extra usability to the chair.

Great options! I'm thinking we'd probably need a good thread or forum where all suggestions on furnishings can be put into one. Hmm...
