Making room for 6 in our tiny home

We recently moved into a converted attic space, which is about 460 sq ft total as part of a temporary housing setup while renovating our main place. The ceiling goes down at a steep angle, so only around 220 square feet has enough height to stand up straight. The rest gets lower and drops to about 4 feet near the sides.

I'm now trying to figure out how to comfortably fit our crew of 6 in this tiny home (4 adults, 2 teens) for a few months. Anyone tried something similar with bunk layouts or multi-use furniture?

You can do staggered or L shaped setups to make use of those 4 foot zones for sleeping space. Multi use furniture like fold out tables or storage benches will help keep things flexible, I think you should zone off a bit of the full height space for a shared common area, just to keep everyone from climbing over each other.

That's a tight space for 6, but bunk beds or lofted beds are your best friends here to save floor room. Custom bunks that fit the sloped ceiling or trundle beds that tuck away can help a lot .

To make the most of your vertical space, try low bunks along the tall wall. For the teens, think about fold-out or slide-under beds. Use the low spaces for storage, seating, or desks that can be rolled away. Furniture that does double duty, like lift-top tables and foldouts you can mount on the wall, will really let you change things up as needed.

Those who find themselves in cramped quarters for extended periods of time may find it interesting to see or learn about how sailors aboard Submarines lived. This is no joke. One can gain some insights by watching some Youtube videos on the subject. Certainly it will be so much simpler for a Tiny Home but the insights gained may be worthwhile for those living in these conditions.

In Cleveland, Ohio there is a WW2 era Submarine on exhibit. The USS Cod. In Pittsburg, Pa the USS Requin is on exhibit at the Carnegie Science Center. In Chicago, there is a WW2 German Submarine U-550 on exhibit at the Bureau of Science & Industry. There may be other exhibits around the coastal areas as well.

Again, this shows the US Navy's solutions for crews in tight quarters.
