I live in the middle of New Mexico along us hwy 60. I came to this area in late 90s to be involved in communial group, and stayed when that fell apart. We built some low budget underground domicles, learning along the way. Using solar panels and used batteries for lights.
Fast forward 25 or 6 years, i'm getting ready to order a Shed from local family biz, and finish the inside myself. And start next chapter in life after retirement.
