DIY advice on adding insulation under tiny stick built house

I have a 533sq ft home with extreme temps and poor crawl space insulation, access is too tight and rocky so ive got limited options. Im considering using local rocks for thermal mass with straw wattle in wood frames, but concerned about moisture issues. Looking for advice on simple but effective, DIY natural insulation.

You may want to find a tool rental place that has some "Jack Screws" that you can rent for a week end. There are many designs and types of these but those that level RV trailers may work


If you can lift the place up around 24" inches or so you can get under it and pull rolled insulation under the floor and staple it in place with a stapling gun. After you do that you may want to take pieces of "Lattice Strips" and place them across the insulation to hold the insulation in place. (Lattice strips are the same wood item that yard sticks for measuring are made of)

The as you let the Home back then you can check to make it level by shimming under it with flat rock pieces etc. Just rent a carpenters level when you rent the jack screws. You will want to have a friend or assistant when you do all of this for safety. Think Safety.

Have you considered blow in insulation ? The tube can be pushed in/out with stick.
Or perhaps spray foam ?
