Picking the right trailer for a DIY build

I see people trying to save money by using old equipment trailers but that is usually a big mistake. You see, a tiny house is very heavy and needs a frame built specifically to carry that much weight for years. I've helped a friend who went with a custom trailer that has the floor joists built in to save a few inches of height. It cost more upfront but it was better because it gave him peace of mind when he is towing it. Anyone here build on a new trailer or did anyone found a way to repurpose an old one?

Went with a triple axle trailer because I knew my wood stove and tile shower were going to add a ton of weight. I see so many builds where the tires are bulging because the owner didn't account for the weight of the furniture and water tanks. That's the part of the house you can never really upgrade once the walls are up. So from the get go that's something you have to plan ahead. I also made sure to get a galvanized frame so I never have to worry about rust eating the floor.

Did you go with electric brakes or do you prefer the surge style for towing?
