Tips to improve kitchen flow

I am trying to make my kitchen much more efficient even though I have to work with the existing layout. I love cooking abd I know that careful planning can make cooking and cleaning a pleasure. I want the kitchen to have good flow... meaning setting up distinct zones for food preparation, baking, cooking, and cleaning. Kinda like making it organized and easier to ove from one to another based on how we usually cook.

The basic idea is to keep things where you use them, like keeping dishes and silverware close to the sink and dishwasher, and storing pots and pans near the stove. The main prep area should ideally be between the sink and the stove too. Kitchen designers often use the work triangle principle, you where the distance between the sink, stove, and refrigerator should be carefully managed. For good flow, the path between any two of these should be between 4ft 9ft and the total distance for all three sides should be between 13 and 26 ft. Does anyone else have to add?

I think this is an excelent idea, maybe one thing to add. Since you enjoy baking, carve out a dedicated space that includes a durable, clear surface, along with storage for baking sheets, mixing bowls, and ingredients like flour and sugar. Keeping all these items grouped makes the switch from "cooking mode" to "baking mode" seamless.

all your plans are great. maybe one important thing is the safety. when selecting furniture, try to eliminate sharp counter corners or island edges that could be bumped into, particularly at hip or head height
also, choose non slip flooring materials, especially in high traffic areas prone to occasional spills, like in front of the sink or stove
